Qingdao rebuilds 400,000 tons of ore terminal

2024-04-01

On March 7, reporters learned from the Qingdao Municipal Transportation Bureau that following the completion of the first 400,000-ton ore terminal in Qingdao in 2010, Qingdao faced development needs and built a second 400,000-ton ore terminal, Wanbang Ore. The terminal is planned to be completed and put into use in June next year. After completion, the iron ore handling capacity of Dongjiakou Port Area will be increased by 16 million tons, and the yard area will be increased by 1.25 million square meters.

It is reported that the Dongjiakou Port Area Port Investment Wanbang Ore Terminal Project has pressed the construction "accelerator button" at the beginning of the new year. According to the project's established "eight-step morning meeting method", construction safety production risks have been publicized, and supervision, general contracting, and subcontracting have been organized. Carry out construction safety inspections, hold morning shift meetings, summarize yesterday's construction status, and formulate today's construction plan. Day after day, this scene of daily work has become a powerful measure to ensure the steady construction of the project.

"How to ensure the quality of the project and carry out acceptance work for the invisible and intangible subsea foundation bed poses new problems to the project construction." Relevant personnel of the project told reporters that while we are seizing the time of low tide to conduct acceptance, , innovatively carried out the use of "online intelligent and automated" monitoring mode, covering a construction area of more than 700 meters in length and more than 80,000 square meters, combined with the auxiliary construction of a 453-meter steel bridge for direct operation of large machinery and equipment, transforming offshore construction into Construction on land significantly reduces the use of ships, reduces operational risks, and increases the average daily working hours to 18-20 hours.

According to reports, with the construction of the Wanbang Ore Terminal, the caisson shipping intelligent risk assessment and other systems developed and used in the project have ensured that all 18 caissons of the project have been placed, 45% of the total stone filling of the caisson compartments has been completed, and the approach bridge piers have been poured. 4 completed, the project is planned to be completed and put into use in June 2025. After completion, the iron ore handling capacity of Dongjiakou Port will be increased by 16 million tons, and the yard area will be increased by 1.25 million square meters, forming a linkage effect with the original ore terminal. Improving the efficiency of iron ore trade and transportation in the hinterland will further amplify the radiating and driving capabilities of the Dongjiakou Port Area, promote port structural adjustment, transformation and upgrading, optimize port functions, and help Qingdao's high-quality development to open up newer and larger land and sea space.
