Varamar and COSCO Shipping form business partnership

Varamar DMCC has established a strategic commercial partnership with COSCO Shipping Group Company ASL Shipping & Logistics, enabling both companies to develop their respective trades.

Varamar is a liner and tramp company specializing in the transportation of bulk, dry bulk, oversize and container cargo. It has historically focused on trade routes connecting Europe with the Middle East, Asia and the Far East, and Africa and the Americas.

Varamar has recently performed in Antwerp (Belgium), Hamburg (Germany), Genoa (Italy), Athens (Greece), Odessa (Ukraine), Istanbul (Turkey), Dubai (UAE), Shanghai (China), Houston (Texas) The establishment of 10 global branches in Texas) and Vancouver (Canada) enables it to establish new goals. Varamar mainly operates in the tonnage range of 3,000-30,000 dwt.

On the other hand, COSCO Shipping Group owns and manages larger (28,000-60,000 deadweight tons) bulk carriers, multi-purpose ships and semi-submersible ships, mainly in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas.

In addition to assisting each other in gaining market share, the two companies will promote their partners' timelines, collaborate on joint marketing campaigns, develop a framework for the exchange of public tonnage information, and support each other on adjacent transactions.

In addition, COSCO and Varamar’s fleets and schedules will be displayed on the shipping platform Shipnext, making it easier for the two charter teams to collaborate.

According to a statement, Kaptan Singh (Malik) will lead and build the team as chief representative, working alongside Varama DMCC Managing Director Niraj Mehta and Varama Shanghai Managing Director Andy Zhuang.

“Both entities have different operating areas and trading objectives, so we believe this agreement plays to the strengths of both parties.
